Hotel Barge KIR ROYALE - Barging in France -

Barge Cruises in Champagne
Between Château-Thierry and Châlons-en-Champagne, France

Welcome to Hotel Barge Kir Royale

The 8-passenger French Hotel Barge Kir Royale is a new addition to the fleet of barges we represent and has an interesting history. She was converted to a beach landing craft in World War Two, sank, refloated, and eventually transformed into a luxury hotel barge.

Kir Royale now cruises the beautiful region of Champagne with its plethora of vineyards stretching across the rolling hillsides. There are plenty of opportunities to sample the sparkling wine to which the region has given its name with private tastings at renowned champagne houses.

Her spacious and airy saloon recently had a complete refit with bespoke furniture, bar, piano, and separate dining area. The four generous, newly renovated and individually decorated suites are each over 200 sq ft. They have ultra-modern, en suite bathrooms with his & hers sinks, and a luxurious, oversized rainforest shower.

Outside, Kir Royale has several lounging areas. Forward, there is a small forward sun deck to enjoy the progress of your voyage. Aft, she has a large, sheltered sun deck with a covered dining area, sun loungers, and heated spa pool. There is also an upper observation deck with a panoramic view.

Imbued with an air of style and elegance, Kir Royale is a superb choice for discovering Champagne whether you’re cruising alongside the rolling vineyards, or perhaps, on a private tour savouring the wines, history and culture of this famous region.
