French Hotel Barge EMMA : LAYOUT,
SPECIFICATIONS, AMENITIES
EMMA is a
lovingly restored barge of 28 metres in length and 4.6 metres wide – a
Klipper Aak of Belgian origin. She lived in the Paris region for her
first 95 years until she was lured south with the promise of sun and a
luxury fit out in 2001.
The interior is spacious, bright and very comfortable for six guests . If your group consists of more than six people, we would be happy to arrange a tandem charter with another barge.
EMMA has three guest cabins that can be configured as either doubles or twins. Beautiful handmade Irish quilts from Oonagh Morisson add that extra touch of luxury. Each guest cabin has its own private, ensuite bathroom with sink, toilet and a normal sized shower with sliding doors. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled, each one being a different colour to complement the colour of the cabin. Towels, bathrobes hairdryers and toiletries from Occitane are provided.
EMMA is fully air-conditioned and has central heating for the cooler evenings in Spring and Autumn.
EMMA's has a spacious upper deck (385 square feet) with tables, chairs, and loungers. Shade from the sun, too, if you want it. This is a marvelous vantage point to see the wonderful countryside and a great place to enjoy cocktails before dinner. Later on, view the stars and set the world to right.

EMMA is a

home," says Liz. "All our personal treasures are on board, including
Uncle Edouard's original menus from the renown ocean liner "France".
